Job overview

The Junior Technical Officer position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in different engineering and technical disciplines within the organization.

The successful candidate will work across various functions, including:

  • Mechanical engineering

The ideal candidate should be resourceful, quick to learn, and ready to take on different responsibilities as required by the organization.

Responsibilities

The Junior Technical Officer will be responsible for

  • Assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of technical equipment.
  • Following standard operating procedures and safety protocols to minimize risks.
  • Ensuring that quality standards are maintained throughout production and operational processes.
  • Documenting maintenance activities, equipment modifications, and operational challenges.
  • Developing process improvements using engineering principles and software tools.
  • Conducting material planning and coordinating with the procurement team on resource allocation.
  • Contributing to sustainable engineering initiatives that are environmentally friendly and safe.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications and skills

Candidates should have

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality assurance and quality control, or a STEM-related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and process improvement.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • A willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to different engineering, technical, and operational roles.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
